Alyce Riemenschneider, LEED AP, principal and senior designer, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan. She is a LEED Certified Designer, Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). She has taught Interior Design at the University level and has co-hosted nationally-televised design programs for PBS.

Ms. Riemenschneider began her career in Ann Arbor in the employ of architectural firms, developing large-scale projects nationally. She has designed 1,500,000 s.f. of library space within the 6,500,000 s.f. of total projects completed. Projects developed are varied and include libraries, University of Michigan Athletic Department facilities, corporate headquarter buildings, medical clinics, extended care facilities, daycare centers, retail shops, shopping centers, fire-stations, churches, schools, technology centers, industrial plants and high-end residential properties.

With over twenty-eight years of professional experience, Ms. Riemenschneider is experienced in all aspects of the design process. This includes programming, space planning, design development, budget analysis, contract specifications, bid documentation, and furniture procurement and installation.

Ms. Riemenschneider’s work has been published in professional trade magazines, books on Interior Design, and is the recipient of first place awards in design excellence. In 1994, she was awarded three First Place Design Excellence Awards from ASID for Historic Preservation, Contract Design, and Residential Design. The first library she designed, the Howell Carnegie District Library, was the recipient of the first place National Design Excellence Award from AIA and ALA jointly. In 2002, the innovative Genesee Valley Library was awarded the first-place award by the Library of Michigan and highly-revered John Cotton Dana Library Award. In 2003, she was awarded seven First-Place Design Excellence awards in the State of Michigan by IIDA (International Interior Design Association). In 2005, first place awards were received for Institutional Design and Creative Furniture Design from IIDA (International Interior Design Association).
