Although the architect designed a contemporary building with exposed steel structure and an open floor plan, the library asked that the interiors be "warm, charming, cozy and inviting". Their previous building had been a historical structure in which patrons could find lots of nooks and crannies to read in.

The color palette is enriched by spruce green which pulls the wooded surroundings into the interior spaces. The children's department is separated from the adult collection in this open plan by two, custom designed display kiosks. These playful kiosks signal the entry into the children's world and can be moved easily on concealed castors for any future changes made to the floor plan.

The existing red oak wood stacks were incorporated into the new plan with the integration of new stacks fabricated by the original manufacturer.
