Three services were provided to the South High location of the Grosse Pointe School System. Original flooring materials were researched to return the corridors to their initial concept. Drinking fountain niches were developed throughout the building with new materials to coordinate with the original Pewabic Tile installations, and motifs used overhead throughout. With the addition of a new Natatorium and Gymnasium, finishes were integrated to unite the new structure with the historic building.

In the corridors, Forbo Linoleum is used in a checkerboard pattern. The use of multi-colored banding integrates the tones of the existing multi-colored marble walls used throughout the corridors. The linoleum adds an acoustically enhanced experience throughout the building, as well as restoring the original pattern and overall effect.

Pewabic tile created tiles for the new niches, with careful matches to the original, to achieve a consistent approach for this building, uniting the original with the new additions. American Olean Mosaic tiles were used throughout the swimming pool area. Intricate patterning in the Natatorium and locker rooms adds color, contrast and a psychological boost within this pool area. School colors are featured in the gymnasium and pool area.
